The main structure of the Shapingba Civil Air Defense Project has been successfully topped out

On December 21st, following 415 days of strenuous efforts, accompanied by the completion of the pouring of the final cubic meter of concrete, the main structure of the Shapingba Civil Air Defense Project, undertaken by China Communications Construction Road & Bridge Corporation, was successfully capped.
This project is situated in the Model Village Community, Tuwan Sub-district, Shapingba District, Chongqing City, with a total construction area of approximately 25,000 square meters. The main structure consists of four underground floors. The first basement floor serves as a large supermarket in peacetime, while the remaining three underground floors are garages, totaling 465 parking spaces. During wartime, the first basement floor functions as a combined civil air defense project, and the second to fourth basement floors are standard civil air defense projects.
The project officially commenced construction on October 30, 2023, and the capping date was nine days earlier than the originally planned December 31, 2024. The successful, high-quality, and early completion of the project's structural capping is the outcome of the concerted efforts of 248 staff members from all participating units, as well as the dedicated work of the entire project team of China Communications Construction Road & Bridge Corporation.
The project leader, Li Gang, stated that the early capping of this project has kindled the determination and passion of all project personnel to achieve victory, and has strengthened the firm confidence of the project team of China Communications Construction Road & Bridge Corporation in flawlessly completing the Shapingba Civil Air Defense Project and presenting a satisfactory result to the people of Chongqing.
The capping of the main structure of the Shapingba project also indicates the official transition of the project to the masonry, secondary structure, and decoration and renovation construction phases. It is anticipated to be delivered for use by May 31, 2025. During the subsequent construction process, the project team of China Communications Construction Road & Bridge Corporation will maintain an even greater enthusiasm for work and actively fulfill all tasks, striving to build a new "underground Great Wall" for the people of Chongqing.
